Nataly Huyhua

My name is Nataly Huyhua, and I am Peruvian- American first-year low-income student at Wesleyan University. My interests and hobbies include music, dance, martial arts, photography, and travel. I have been involved in music for as long as I can remember. I have played the flute, guitar, and charango- a traditional Incan and Andean instrument- for more than 11 years. Through music and dance, I’ve become aware of the diverse community I lived in. As a result, I became engaged in community work and volunteered to promote inclusivity through music. Likewise, my interest in medicine and public health prompted me to engage in course-work related to the field. I look forward to continue to write and reflect on my surroundings and cultural awareness.
